Now I know that sounds kind of funny coming from me.  If you’ve been following me at all, you know that I’ve built my business from GENERATING my own home based business leads with my attraction marketing system.  So then, why would I tell you to do differently?

Well, I’m not.  Building your business with purchased home based business leads is not the only reason to buy them.  There are 3 other reasons why you should …(And, hey, I do this myself — I would never tell you to do something that I don’t do myself

3 Reasons to Buy Home Based Business Leads

Lead Abundance vs. Lead Lack

This could be a whole blog post in and of itself.  I can’t tell you how important abundance mindset is in prospecting and recruiting.  When you have a list of 100, 500, 1000 leads in your posession, you will have the feeling of abundance.  That way, when you’re talking to your “good leads” (whatever that is to you), you will not be so attached to them.  Your leads (aka people) can feel that.  Your strong desire (desperation?) to sign them up comes across in every word out of your mouth.  When you have a bunch of purchased home based business leads in your hand, subconsciously, you eliminate that lack mentality and feel lead abundance.  Your posture changes and the way you talk to your prospect changes.  Your results change.  So simple.  So true.

Practice, Practice, Practice Makes Perfect, Perfect, Perfect

There’s no arguing that practice at anything makes you better.  Would an athelete ever go to the olympics without practicing?  Would an actor ever show up on set without having rehearsed their lines?  Why would you ever think that as a professional Network Marketer you shouldn’t practice?  Purchased home based business leads are great to practice on.  Buy a big ol’ bunch of cheap bulk leads and practice what you’re learning from your mentors.  Don’t think about signing these leads up (although you might).  Think about practicing a technique that you just learned or a new script.  Your prospecting will get so fluid and beautiful, you might just want to do it on stage.

Increase Your Recruiting Results

Really, the first two reasons are all about this one.  Increasing your results.  You are guaranteed to get better at something when you’ve practiced.  You’re guaranteed to attract and sign up more people when you’re feeling abundance.  In the end of the day, it’s all about results.  If you feel you deserve to have results in your business, then get out there and buy some home based business leads and GET GOOD AT PROSPECTING!

I had a disturbing call recently with a prospect and I simply felt compelled to share it.  I was speaking with a relative newbie the other day.  I asked her what her struggles were with her Network Marketing business.  She responded, as many do, that getting leads was a struggle. 

She’d hit that oh-so-familiar position that many of us do when we are starting out and have no marketing training.  The one where you’ve hit the NFL Club.  NFL = No Friends Left.  You’ve tried prospecting all your friends and family and now they avoid you like the plague.

What now?  Where do you get fresh leads?

So, I was answering that question for this newbie marketer, giving her strategies on how to generate her own leads for free on the internet, etc., when she told me a disturbing fact.

I asked her what kind of training her upline was giving her.  What did they tell her to do to get leads?  She took a big sigh of frustration and told me that she was unhappy with her upline.  They weren’t doing what they’d promised to do. 

What, pray tell, was that?, I wondered.

It seems her upline had promised her that if she signed up at the highest level (read: most expensive level) in this company, that they would populate her downline with tons of reps for her.   They would be her own personal downline builder.  Easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy. 

This kind of thing makes me crazy!  There are some unscrupulous marketers out there that, in the interest of signing up anyone with a pulse, will say whatever the prospect wants to hear in order to get them IN.  Cha-ching. 

 My point here is this:  MLM is not a get-rich-quick scheme.  There is no magic formula for INSTANT success.  No shortcuts.  You have to put some time and effort in.  This is a business.  Can you imagine starting a brick-and-mortar type business and expecting a line of customers lined up around the block the next day.  No way.  You know that building that kind of a business takes time.  Why would a Network Marketing business be any different in that regard?

Yes, there are ways to shorten that time significanly.  Learning how to leverage the internet is one of them.  And that takes training.  And commitment.  You can build a HUGE Network Marketing business online (or offline) with proper marketing and recruiting training and a commitment to be serious about it.  A commitment to treat it as a business and not a hobby.   Remember, a business pays and a hobby costs.

The lesson here is this…  If you are being told that someone else is willing to do all the work for you, and you just have to sit back and collect the enormous checks, you’re being taken.  If you’re told that all you have to do is sign up 2 or 3 reps and then just sit back and watch that matrix fill up, you’re being fooled. 

Wake up and smell the cappuccino.  Don’t allow yourself to be seduced into this kind of thinking. 

If you’re serious about really building a Network Marketing business, make sure your company provides training beyond “Make a list of 100 people that you know and start calling”.    Make sure before you sign up with a Network Marketing company that they give phenomenal training on offline recruiting skills as well as online lead generation skills and most of all, marketing. 

But most of all, make sure that your upline is giving you honest information on what it takes to build a successful Network Marketing business.  A good upline will recruit you, not because you have a pulse, but because they see a leader in you and they will help you bring that out and give you the skills and tools necessary to be a major producer. 

So, trust your instinct.  There are many amazing opportunities out there…  Many ways to make a 6 and 7-figure income in Network Marketing.  Find a proper mentor who can show you the way, and you will have the prosperous business that you deserve! 

To Your Abundance and Prosperity,

Now I know that might sound a little harsh if you don’t understand my motivation.  Here it is.  I only sponsor SERIOUS marketers.  Now a lot of marketers say they’re serious about getting into profit, achieving MLM succes and building an empire, but their actions say otherwise.  If you think you’re in the latter group, read on.

There’s a big different between the two.  Let’s talk about that for a moment. 

There are two kinds of people in this world – there are those who say they’re going to do something, and those who actually do it. 

Which one are you?   Now if you’re really being honest with yourself right now, 97% of you are in the first category.  97% of you reading this article right now talk a lot about marketing and sponsoring, think a lot about marketing and sponsoring, but only 3% of you actually take consistent action on a regular basis and actually do it.  Only 3% of you reading this right now do the work necessary to really find success in this crazy biz we call Network Marketing.

Isn’t that astounding?  So, why is it that they don’t do what is necessary to build their personal empire and get into serious profit? 

Answer:  On some level they are blocking their own MLM success.  Perhaps on some level, they don’t feel they deserve wealth and success.  That is usually the case.  Somewhere along the way, they learned that they don’t deserve it, shouldn’t ask for it and won’t get it anyway…so why bother.  And although they want it badly, it won’t come until they shed themselves of these damaging beliefs and self-talk.

So, I won’t sponsor them…yet.

However, let’s look at what that other 3% is doing that makes them the kind of Marketer we ALL want in our downline. 

This other 3% are doing the following:

• Working on their personal development on a daily basis. 
• They have figured out how to get leads from at least 5 different sources
• They call their leads daily.  
• They have more leads than they have time. 
• They have a system in place with a targeted sales funnel that converts. 
• They reach out and find successful mentors. 

They are able to do this because they have a solid marketing plan that they execute on a daily basis.  They don’t waste their valuable time getting ready to get ready.  They take action.  They do.  But most of all, they have a firm belief that they deserve MLM success.  These are the leaders that I sponsor.

These are the leaders you should be looking for when you sort and sift through your prospects.  These are the prospects that will help you create their empire through their ability to lead and sponsor others.  But before you can sponsor these leaders, you need to become a leader yourself.  You need to become the leader that you want to sponsor. 

That’s an important concept so I’ll say it again.

You need to become the leader that you want to sponsor.   Then, and only then, will you start attracting the kind of downline that won’t just sit there collecting dust and then quit because ‘it doesn’t work”.  THEN your empire will flourish.

Okay, you’ve got leads coming in. Great. Now, what do you do with your leads? Well, first let’s begin with what doesn’t work….and this again, goes counter to probably everything you’ve learned about network marketing. But we’re done with all the old, outdated ways of prospecting aren’t we? Aren’t we done trying to chase people to join our businesses? Aren’t we ready to have them chase us? If you’re reading this right now, I’ll assume yes.

So, what you don’t want to do is start calling them up and trying to convince them to join your opportunity. What we don’t want to do is spam them with emails trying to convince them to join your opportunity. Most times, this will only get you the eye glaze – that hazy, glazed look on a prospect’s face when they feel someones trying to “sell” them something. Or the “I’m not interested” hangup, or worse yet, the “delete” button in their email.

Now let’s talk about what works. “But wait, Amy…I’ve gotten people into my business doing those things…what’s wrong with that?” Nothing. And, if you’re content to have people trickle into your downline once in a while after you spend all your energy chasing and hunting them down and don’t have the desire to kick your business up to the next stratosphere of income, then go with G*d. You can stop reading now.

If, however, you’re ready to take action and expand your mind and your business, let’s get started. Really it all begins with you. You’ve got to provide something of value to your list beyond an “opportunity” before they’re going to pay attention to you, to trust you, to listen to what you say…and ultimately to join your team. You need to provide the valuable tools and information that you’ve accumulated throughout your experience in network marketing (however long or short that experience is) in order to be someone to whom they will listen.

Now at the is point some of you newer marketers are wondering “What value can I have to offer other marketers?…I just started”. Well, you know more than you think. Just by reading this article and opening your mind to new ideas about how to market, you already know more than 95% of marketers out there who are all doing what you USED TO do. The more personal development you do (books, webinars, trainings) the more you have to offer. Find a unique way to communicate those things to your list and they will come to not only read your emails and take your calls, but look forward to them.
