Are you working with one of the Top Network Marketing Companies?  If you don’t know, you should.  Nexera recently released their list of the 25 Top Network Marketing Companies.  I was surprised at what WASN’T included on there.  But before we talk about that, let’s see how they built their list.

First, they ONLY included companies that were in business for 10 years or more.  As you may know, a 10 year anniversary in network marketing is practically a miracle…  Let’s face it, the ONE year anniversary is a miracle for network marketing companies.  The fact that these companies have been around this long says something about the way they do business.

You may also notice that the majority of companies on this list are in the health and wellness field.  This trend is still the most popular among network marketing companies.  The health and wellness industry has just exploded in recent years.  In fact, many of the  fastest growing newer network marketing companies that are not on this list are also in this field.  This is clearly not a trend to ignore.

Some of their other criteria were companies that are U.S. based, have a Google Ranking, show up in Google Trends and have an Alexa Ranking.  If you don’t know what an Alexa Ranking is, burn that phrase into your brain if you are in Network Marketing.  Alexa.com ranks every website on their traffic and web views.  If your network marketing company doesn’t have an Alexa ranking, it’s either extremely new or something to be concerned about.  Also, if you company’s website is trending downward in it’s Alexa ranking, that’s not a good sign either.

Some very popular newer companies are clearly not on this list, and it’s really just a function of age.  For example, you won’t see the extremely popular Monavie, which has been around for 5 years and has reached a billion dollars in sales.  5 years is generally  considered to be a long enough time for a Network Marketing company to show stability but it doesn’t meet Nexera’s 10 year criteria.  Others with high Alexa scores but that are too young to be considered for this list are Xango, Agel and Send Out Cards.

Well, it’s holiday time again… Time for thinking of others, spending time with family, shopping for gifts, holiday parties…you know the drill.  Are you making time for all this great stuff but putting your own MLM business at the bottom of your list of “things to do”?

It’s very easy to get distracted by all this fun holiday stuff and simply drop the MLM ball….promising yourself you’ll get to “it” after the holidays.  Or better yet, making that resolution to really kick “it” into high gear in the new year.  What is “it” anyway?  Um, it’s YOUR BUSINESS!

Think about it, if you had a job, would you tell your boss “I’ll get to it in 2010”?  I don’t think so.  Why is it so easy to tell yourself that?  Afterall, if you are in MLM,  YOU are your boss.  You have to be in charge of motivating yourself.  You matter!

It’s time for you to take your business seriously if you REALLY want to have massive success.  Afterall, it’s not a hobby; don’t treat it like one.  Don’t wait until the new year to give your business your attention.  Do it NOW!

Aviara Life is a direct marketing company that distributes a supplement in the form of a juice.  There are two different formulas; one called “AM” and the other called “PM”.  They say their products offer you better health and a better quality of life, as well as a way to make a living.  Let’s find out.

The Products

Their morning blend, simply called “AM”, contains a number of powerful antioxidants as well as anti-inflammatories claiming to support focus, mood, energy and stamina.  Their evening blend, called “PM”, also contains antioxidants as well as anti-inflammatories as well as a number of other ingredients which they claim support sleep, stress relief and detoxification.  Both products contain significant amounts of Resveratrol which they say shows tremendous promise as a nutritional supplement according to recent studies.

The Business Opportunity

The Compensation Plan for Aviara Life is your basic Binary Team Structure in which you earn commission based upon the Personal Volume (PV) and Group Volume (GV) from each arm.  The Team Commission you earn is based on the total volume in the lesser leg.  Pretty standard stuff.  There are also many different bonuses you can earn along the way…a “First Order Bonus”, a “Star-Maker Bonus”…etc.  You move up the chain from the Entrepreneur Ranks to the Chief Executive Ranks and then on to the Chairman Ranks, each based upon your total sales volume.  Nothing unusual here.

The Pros

This is one of the few Network Marketing companies that I’ve seen that offers options to receive health insurance benefits with a wide variety of major providers as well as and an opportunity participate in a matched savings plan.  Pretty unusual.

The Cons

Well, let’s face it, this company is Pre-Launch.  It’s brand spanking new.  As you may know, about 98% of all Network Marketing companies fail…most of them in their first year.  So, do you really want to run around and build your empire on what could be quicksand?  That’s quite a risk.

The Marketing Plan

Well, hmmm…there isn’t one.  This is often the case with many MLMs, whether they’re Pre-launch, like Aviara Life, or even some of the more seasoned MLMs.  Most of them do not train you in how to market at all.  Even if they do have some experience training you how to market offline, most of it will be the old “make a list of 100 people you know” sort of thing; most of them have you chase your friends and family and try to convince them to join your great opportunity.  Aviara Life is no different in that regard.

In order to build wealth and sponsor new reps into your business, you need to learn how to market the way the top earners in our business do, through a proven marketing system that generates massive amounts leads.  Your lead list is the lifeblood of your business.  You need exposure to the right target market in order to build your business…period.

Summary

Whether you have already signed up with Aviara Life or are considering joining, you’re going to need to put together a marketing plan to really get it off the ground.  Whether you are in this for the long haul and want to really grow this into a great business and find serious financial freedom, or whether you just need a few extra bucks in your pocket at the end of the month, you’re going to need a marketing system that is easily duplicatible for your downline in order to have success.  A marketing system is KEY for the health of your Aviara business.

Do you have MLM Commitment-Phobia?  This terrible pandemic is spreading across the Network Marketing community like wildfire.

Symptoms include:

• Hearing about a great MLM opportunity with a proven company, great upline support and a duplicatable system that you can plug into where others have achieved great success, with a product you believe in and great comp plan … and you WANT to sign up, but DON’T actually do it.

• Create excuses for not joining this awesome business that you are excited about (i.e., It costs too much, I don’t have the time, I don’t know enough people, I need to talk to my mother/father/brother/spouse/anyone-with-a-pulse first, etc…).

• Actually joined your exciting network marketing company and then don’t do anything but watch your auto-ship boxes of product pile up in your garage, sponsor nobody and then complain that “it doesn’t work”.

• Decide to “give it a try” but then stop and give up once you’ve asked your best friend, roommate and mother-in-law to join and they don’t.

• Work with one company for a little while, but then when “it doesn’t work” and you fail to build a downline and create real income, jump to another , then another, then another…always searching for the next best thing that’s going to “work”.

• Are working with an MLM but have a roving eye constantly searching for the young, hot “pre-launch” that’s going to make you a millionaire that’s like “getting in on the ground-floor of Google”!

The Cause:

Fear.  Insecurity.  Inability to grow, leave old beliefs and bad habits behind you and create new positive, prosperity-minded ones in their place.

The Cure:

There is really only one cure for this terrible disease….TAKING ACTION.   The American Medical Board of MLM Doctors recommends taking these steps immediately:

• Actually join a proven company that has phenomenal upline support, a duplicatable ONline and OFFline marketing system that you can plug your downline into, a product you believe in and a great comp plan

• Get support from your awesome upline and do what they tell you.

• Decide that failure is NOT an option.

• Continue to educate and develop yourself so that you can provide value to your downline.

• Keep that roving eye in check and don’t “cheat” on your MLM with a younger, hotter one.

• Stick with it and keep your eye on the prize.

The American Medical Board of MLM says that if you follow these steps exactly, in no time at all, you will have a thriving, lucrative Network Marketing business and be free of MLM Commitment-Phobia forever!

Let’s face it, a lot of people hate dating.  It gives you anxiety in the pit of your stomach; it gives you cold sweats.  You wonder what you should say?  You start thinking about the get-to-know-you dance you have to engage in.  You put out all that effort to get to know someone…what if it doesn’t work out?  Ugh.

I bet you’re wondering: What on earth could that possibly have to do with prospecting and sponsoring new reps into my MLM business Amy? Well, did you ever sit down to get ready to make those phone calls.   You know….You’ve got your list of MLM leads and phone numbers in one hand, your phone in the other; you take a deep breath and get ready to start prospecting …all hopeful and nervous…getting that familiar anxiety in the pit of your stomach….looking over your “script” so you know what you should say.  Get ready to talk to a total stranger and hope you make a connection.  Starting to sound familiar?

We can learn a lot from people who do well in dating situations.  I’ll tell you what they’ve got that you should have.  An actual desire to date.  Now I know that sounds crazy.  I know even all you long-time married folk can remember how nervous and uncomfortable you got on dates at times.  But here’s something about successful daters — They actually look forward to dating.  It’s a chance to connect with someone new.  To enjoy getting to know a new human being.  They actually find it fun!

I know that sounds nuts to those of you who’ve experienced dating dread on a regular basis, but it’s true.  Dread in dating is merely a decision that you’ve made to be uncomfortable with something.  It’s not “just the way things are”.  You have CHOSEN it.

This same philosophy could and should be applied to prospecting.  It’s all in the mindset.  If you want to be successful at prospecting and sponsoring new reps into your MLM business, BEFORE you pick up that phone, you have got to DECIDE to enjoy yourself.   Make a decision to have a little fun.  Breathe.  Relax.  Vary your script a little.  Make the words your own.  Make it a game you play with yourself.  So what if it doesn’t work out.  Who cares?  Take the pressure off and just enjoy yourself.  It’s just a lead.  It’s not the be all and end all of your success.

When you put such importance (aka desperation) into each phone call, your MLM prospect can feel that.  Ick.  Do you really want to spend time with needy, desperate people? … Neither do you prospects.  They certainly aren’t going to have confidence in the idea of getting into business with a needy, desperate person – no matter how good your MLM opportunity is.

Instead, just listen.  Find something that you can connect to about your prospect and ask them questions about it.  People love to talk about themselves.  Listen to what your prospect is struggling with in their MLM business and try to relate.  Make it personal.  When your prospects feel listened to – when they feel really HEARD – you’ve made a connection.  Then, and ONLY then, might they actually be receptive to your opportunity.  Then you have the chance to really sponsor them into your MLM business and show them the way to the top!

Prospecting in MLM is a dance.  You keep in rhythm with your partner and take it one step at a time.  You don’t go proposing marriage in the middle of your introduction.  You don’t step on their toes.  First you make a connection.  Then you woo.  Then you sponsor.

Remember High School English papers?…Compare and Contrast…blah, blah, blah. Well, since I come from a pair of teachers (my Dad being an English teacher), every now and again I like to have a Compare & Contrast moment. It helps me clarify concepts and make better decisions (thanks Dad!).

Let’s take a moment to really take a close look and both an MLM business versus having a JOB and see what the differences really are. Afterall, if you’re going to commit this MLM thing, don’t you want to know what you’re getting yourself into and what the benefits actually are?

Your Assignment: Compare & Contrast MLM v. J-O-B

With MLM, you work for yourself; YOU decided how you spend your time all day.

With a JOB you work for someone else; THEY dictate what you do with every moment of your time while you’re at work (and sometimes beyond!).

With MLM, YOU decide what you’re worth and there is no limit on how much you can earn, how much you can grow.

With a JOB, someone else decides your value – how much you’re worth — and pays you that amount. Period. Sometimes your head even hits that glass ceiling. Ouch!

With MLM, you have the freedom to come and go as you please; you make your own schedule…You can go to your kid’s soccer game, go for a run in the middle of the day, meet a friend for coffee – find balance… Basically, you can have a life.

With a JOB, you usually don’t get to come and go as you please; you usually have “HOURS” that you work (maybe you even have to punch in and out). You probably have to miss your kid’s soccer games most of the time (or have a hassle having to “get off of work” to attend that or some other important function — if you’re lucky!) You may even completely give up some of the things you love to do because you just have no time. You just can’t fit it in.

Hmmm…I know where I’m leaning so far…Let’s keep going….

With MLM every moment of your time and energy is devoted to building a business over which YOU rule – YOUR personal empire!

With a JOB, every moment of your workday is devoted to building someone else’s dream and being a mere pawn in THEIR personal empire.

Now of course I’m somewhat biased because I have already embraced the Network Marketing concept. I’ve committed myself. I am ready to do what it takes to have the things that I want. I build my personal empire every day. It feels REALLY good.

That’s what I asked myself as I tossed and turned in bed at 4 something this morning…my mind swirling with great marketing ideas and things to accomplish for my MLM business. Well, it turns out the answer is….I’m excited about my Network Marketing business! I just got a shipment in of my product for my primary biz and I got RE-excited all over again!

Not a terrible problem to have. Excitement about your Network Marketing business, I mean.

However, we all know that excitement alone is not going to make you a top earner. COMMITMENT. DRIVE. FOCUS. BELIEF. VISION. And, of course, my personal favorite TAKING ACTION. All the former, without the latter is a just lonely list of nouns. Gotta have the verb! (Sorry, my Dad was an English teacher and sometimes a little grammar verbiage creeps in).

So, I challenge you today to relocate your own excitement! Rededicate yourself to your COMMITMENT, DRIVE, FOCUS, BELIEF and VISION for your Network Marketing business. And TAKE ACTION today. Don’t let another day go by “getting ready to get ready”. Whether you have 30 minutes today or 10 hours to devote, make your plan for the best use of that time and make the most of it.

And…get a good night sleep.
