Who is Amy Jo Neal?

It’s hard to sum up who I am in one little page but if you’re going to read my blog, perhaps take my advice and possibly even work with me, you should know a little about me, dontcha think?

So, here’s my catchy headline:  FROM HOLLYWOOD HOTSHOT TO TOP SOCIAL MEDIA & MARKETING EXPERT:  My Story.  Ha!  Do you like it?  Okay, enough of schnazzy headlines.  Let me give you the real scoop.

First and foremost, I’m a Mom.  And yes, I’m also a Social Media & Marketing Consultant, Internet Marketer, Casting Director, Coach, Speaker and a whole bunch of other things.  But I like to lead with what’s most important…my “why”.  My Momhood.  Here’s what happened…

After working as the VP of Casting for HBO for 14 years, in a corporate job that was fabulous and extremely sought-after on the outside, I was hurting inside.  Why?  Because every single day, I had to drop my beautiful son off at day care and go spend 10 hours a day working hard to build someone else’s dream, while I watched my son grow up in a car seat commuting to and from work and in the picture frames on my desk.  So, no matter how glamorous and high-paying my job was, I was missing out on what was most important to me.

Then one day I had an epiphany. I threw my hands up and looked up and said to whatever is out there listening “There has to be another way…Please show me!”.  Did you ever have one of those moments?

Well, a couple of days later, an opportunity landed in my lap which led me to some phenomenal mentors in the internet marketing industry.  These incredible marketers took me under their wing and shared their knowledge and gifts with me.   The Marketing Lioness was born.

I did exactly what they taught me and I began to attract people, generate leads online and offline and ultimately build a great business USING SOCIAL MEDIA.  I have been flying high ever since.  Oh, of course HBO eventually decided to close my entire division and when they did, I expanded my brand and launched my new Social Media Management company,   “Social Media Lioness“.

Is this a fairytale?  No.  It’s just a simple story of how I refused to quit and I was determined to succeed because that cute little green-eyed boy that I love needed his mom.  Simple.

Now, I’m a full-time Entrepreneur.  I’m home every day when he gets home from school.  I get to be there for my beautiful boy.  How does it get even better than that?

Was this an accident?  No.  I CHOSE it.  I created it.  AND YOU CAN TOO.  Don’t ever let anyone or anything stand in your way.  You CAN create a successful business, whether it be brick and mortar, online or home based business…. or anything else that you desire.  Align yourself with people of integrity…great LEADERS who can teach you to be one too.  Get mentors.  Connect with people who have the knowledge and experience you don’t and get their help.
